11 months old

Harper is 11 months old! What a fun little girl she is. She loves to babble and “sing” along with mommy. The ABC’s, Itsy Bitsy Spider and When You’re Happy and You Know It are her favorites. In a room full of toys, she always goes for the TV remotes, cell phones and our water bottles or cups. She’s a lot more confident on her feet – using her walker or pushing furniture across the room, standing by herself, squatting and cruising all over. She still likes her jumperoo, but needed to take the thrill level up a notch – so she jumps with her arms straight up in the arm, like she’s on a roller coaster.

She’s digging the finger foods more too. She loves breakfast foods – waffles, toast, scrambled eggs. She waves and claps a lot. That 8th tooth finally made an appearance on 8/16. Then this past week, a bad cold hit all three of us. We took her to the doctor but luckily no ear infection or fever. While we were there, she got weighed – 24lbs! She’s in 18 month clothes mostly. (By the way, I know pajamas are supposed to fit snugly, but it is quite impossible to put a freshly-lotioned sticky, chubby baby into tight pajamas!)

Despite recovering from her nasty cold – she looks quite darling in her blue dress.

weekend getaway to texas wine country

After over two years living in Texas, we finally made it to Fredericksburg. We kept thinking, “why didn’t we do this before we had a baby?” But we brought the baby along and she had fun too! Oh, and we brought the cats too… It was a regular Griswold family vacation!

We stayed in a quaint, old cottage from the 1800’s. Maeby enjoyed exploring – knocking over plants, climbing onto window sills, and sitting in the claw foot tub. Margot enjoyed hiding under the bed.

We ate German food, walked around the shops downtown and hit up a few wineries. It was relaxing, scenic and even the weather was tolerable (much cooler than in Austin!) We had fun taking a few pictures of our girl.
