5 months old

Harper is 5 months old! She has really found her voice. She squeals and squawks and had her first big belly laugh on February 2nd when her daddy was being silly. Now she laughs almost every time you blow on her belly. She now sleeps unswaddled about 10 hours a night and spends more happy time on her tummy and sitting up in the bumbo and jumperoo. She’s had her first cold – a runny nose that lasted 4 weeks! Thank goodness for the Nosefrida. She also came with us to her first outdoor dinner when family was visiting.

She loves to touch faces – particularly daddy’s beard – and grabbing my lips. Perhaps her new biggest love is Maeby. She LOVES to pet her and watch her – giggles and squeals every time. I think they will be best friends. She gets equally excited about Margot, but Maeby is a lot more social and lets Harper pet her.

stylin’ in sunglasses

Me and my mini-me wanted to enjoy some fresh air on a nice day, so we grabbed our sunglasses and Drew took some photos of us being silly. There’s not much cuter than a baby in sunglasses.

Not sure why Harper is sticking her tongue out so much – silly girl.

Later that day, Drew’s aunt and cousins who were in town for a race came over and we went out to dinner at Contigo, one of our favorite outdoor restaurants. Harper was an angel – didn’t make a peep the whole time!

Harper and Mommy

20 weeks in, 20 weeks out

When Harper was 20 weeks old on the inside, we found out she was a girl!

It's a girl!

Now she’s 20 weeks old on the outside and quite the little lady!

scenes from a birthday

My birthday started bright and early – like every day lately. I’ve been under the weather and so has the baby. I wish I looked this cute when I’m sick!

Harper

Despite appearances, it was a groggy day for both of us. Until the afternoon when my husband arrived home early to bake me a cake and cook dinner. Not just any dinner – steamed mussels in a white wine cream sauce! Fancy! Thank you to my sweet husband for making it a special night.

My Birthday

Three of my favorite things: wine, cake and baby feet.
